The Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers (ABAG), a statewide association of more than 130 private and community foundations, intermediaries, corporations, donor advised funds and public charities, is pleased to announce that Victor Valentine joined the Association team as the Director of Engagement and Policy.

Valentine brings more than twenty years of community development and policy experience in both the nonprofit and public sectors. Specializing in the areas of organizational assessment, strategic and operational planning, program design and professional coaching, he has helped support more than 200 nonprofits throughout his career.

In his previous roles, Valentine served as the director of programs and evaluation with the New York Urban League and led the nonprofit capacity building initiatives for the United Way of New York City. In addition, having acted as an executive for two community-based organizations, Valentine possesses past experiences as a lobbyist for two Washington, DC-area membership associations and is a former Executive Liaison to the Baltimore Workforce Investment Board.

“We are excited Vic has joined the Association,” said ABAG’s President Celeste Amato. “His breadth of experience combined with his obvious passion and energy for the social sector will greatly contribute to our team and mission.”

Valentine holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland at College Park and a Master’s degree in public administration from Wilmington University.
